Motivation

Background

If we can motivate people, we can move mountains. Some seem to know instinctively how to motivate others, but many others benefit from training. Fortunately, the basics of motivation are well understood and training can be very effective.

Objectives

  • To demonstrate good listening practice.
  • To provide opportunities for participants to practice listening.

Method

We all have basic motivational needs and these influence the way we relate to other people. Before we can explore this, we need to understand our own personal motivational needs which we do by completing a self-motivational profile. Your profile will not provide a definitive statement of your needs, but will "start an intelligent conversation and provide a workable insight". Results for participants are compared with those from a data base of 1500. We then consider, for you, the personal implications for motivating yourself and others and provide you with a workable and effective approach to motivation.
